Looking for information linking Nancy B. Carter and Sarah L. Carter. Nancy married Aaron Cox December 18, 1825, in Muscle Shoals, Lauderdale, Alabama. Sarah married William Price in 1829 Lauderdale County, Alabama. I know that Nancy & Aaron lived in Lexington, Lauderdale, Alabama and this is where they raised their children before moving to Arkansas and then ending up in Missouri where I live.

COOK - COLBE - GADBERRY - HOLLEY
From: John Steward
Date: 1 Feb 2005
I am looking for info on Christopher/Christian Cook, who married Mary Colbe,
and their children.  Christopher/Christian Cook died in or near Florence, Lauderdale Co., AL, March 31, 1872, while visiting the home of his son Jesse Cook (b. about 1812).  Christopher is probably buried in Lauderdale Co., AL.
I am trying to link my ancestor Ishum Cook as a son of
Christopher.  Ishum Cook was born 29 Sep 1820 in Wayne Co., TN. He married
Rhoda M. Gadberry.  They settled in Van Buren Co., AR.  Their daughter
Cynthia C. Cook married Thomas Payne Holley.  The Holley families of Van
Buren and Cleburne Co., AR, came from Old Tishomingo Co., MS. Several
distant cousins still live in and around Booneville, Prentiss County, MS.
I'd also like to find info on the other Cook siblings.  Several went to Van
Buren Co.  Any light you can shed for me will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!  John

PETTUS - GRESHAM - FULK - ALLEN - RICHARDSON
From: Stephen Vitatoe
Date: 9 Mar 2005
I am seeking information on a Ann Eliza Pettus. The earliest I can find anything on her is in the 1860 census of Lauderdale county, Alabama; she is listed with her father, William Washington Pettus and her step mother, Martha Jane Gresham Fulk Pettus. At the time she was listed as being 16 years old. Have tried to back track but am unable to find them in the 1850 census. I know that Ann's mother was Mary Jane Allen, she was born 16 July 1824 in Lauderdale co., Alabama and died 7 November 1854 in Lauderdale co., Alabama. Her step mother is also related to me, Martha is a daughter of Thomas Gresham and Mary Richardson. Can anyone tell me if Ann was ever married or whom she married? Would appreciate any information that someone could give me on her.

Creasey - Wilks - Foster
From: Janet Sowers
Date: 7 April 2005
I would like any information on Creasey, Wilks, and Foster families in Muscle Shoals area. Surname Creasey may be spelled Creasy, Creesy, and countless other ways. Bird Smith Creasey and Nancy George Wilks were married in Lauderdale County on December 12, 1839. The marriage license issued to them has the grooms surname wrongly spelled as Grason. Nancy's sister, Sarah also married a Creasey. Bird Smith, Nancy, their seven children; James Francis, John Foster, George Washington, Hiram Furgerson, Henry Thomas, Sarah Lavinda, and Mariah Adeline came to Illinois in 1854 from Greenup County, KY. One child, Mary Ann born Dec. 20, 1844 died in 1849. Two more children, Martha Alice and Eliza Jane were born to Bird Smith and Nancy George after they came to McDonough County, Hire Township IL. Bird Smith died of cancer in 1860 and is buried at Friendship cemetery in McDonough county, IL. Nancy George Wilks' father was Benjamin Wilks. Her mother was Mary "Polly" Foster. Mary "Polly" came to Illinois with Bird Smith and Nancy George. She is also buried in Friendship cemetery. Nancy George had a younger brother Francis P. Wilks who first married Caroline Carr then Mary Elearnor Farmer. She also had an older brother, James who was an ordained minister. I would like to know if Mary "Polly" Foster was related to George Washington Foster, one of the early residents of Florence. He owned the cotton mill that was burned by Union army during Civil War.
