also her two infant children

"Depart my friend and dry up your tears
for I must rest here till Christ appears"
[NOTE: Susan Rapier was the wife of John H. Rapier, a slave freed by Richard Rapier in the 1820's. He was a barber in Florence, and It is a symbol of the respect which the citizens had for John H. that his wife is buried in the 'white' section of the Florence City Cemetery. Her grave sits at an angle instead of being aligned with the row.]
