PEERSON CEMETERY

Through the efforts and assistance of Lois E. Henderson, this cemetery has been restored this past summer [1990] by Mason Ingram and some more of his Peerson relatives. Lois Henderson was very helpful in helping the Peerson family locate the cemetery, and find the names of the people buried there. Some of the trees have been cut, the cemetery has been cleaned off, and a new chain link fence has been put around the newly erected marker. The road has been fixed so that you can get into the cemetery.

To reach this cemetery from Florence, turn northwest off Cox Creek Parkway onto AL 20 (Savannah Highway); go 2.9 miles and turn left on Lauderdale 16 (Mud Road); go 2.5 miles to the cemetery. The cemetery is on the left side of the road. This cemetery is listed on the 1987 Lauderdale County Highway Map, as well as some other maps as the PEARSON Cemetery. The legal description is NE4, NW4, Sec 28, T2S, R12W.
