CEMETERIES - TOWNSHIP 3, RANGE 13
SMITHSONIA CHURCH OF CHRIST CEMETERY
(BLACK)
Surveyed by Orlan Irons (no date)
To reach this cemetery, turn off AL 20 (Savannah Highway), onto Lauderdale 6 (Gunwaleford Road), go 9.9 miles. The cemetery is on the left side of the road, the same side the church is on. This is not a real old cemetery. The first person buried here was Henderson Thompson who died in 1960. All the people buried in this cemetery are black. It appears that the graves are in a row, as each person is buried, and not according to family. The legal description for the cemetery is NE4, SE4, Sec 14, T3S R13W.
