Location: This cemetery is located on Alabama Highway 17 N. in the community of Zip City. It lies about 7.8 miles north of Cox Creek Parkway in Florence. This cemetery is commonly referred to as the Rogers Chapel Cemetery as it is immediately behind the Rogers Chapel United Methodist Church. In actuality it is the Wilson Cemetery as is noted on a marble marker just inside the cemetery fence. In speaking with members of the church, I was told the church is not connected with the cemetery. The Church was established in 1929 but the cemetery was started earlier. The earliest known grave here is that of Phillip Wilson being born in 1817.
