Consideration: $1,500 cash in hand paid, receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged:

Conveys all of the right, title, claim and interest of the first parties
being or believed to be a one fifth undivided interest in and to the
following named and described lands lying and being situated in the County
of Lauderdale and State of Alabama, to-wit:

The S1/2 of Section 21 and the W.1/2 of NE ¼ and E1/2 of NW1/4 of
Section 21, also the N1/2 of Section 28 and the E1/2 of S.W. ¼ of Section
28, also the W1/2 of NE1/4 and E1/2 of NW ¼ of Section 27, also S.W. ¼ of
Section 22 and E1/2 of NE part of Fractional Section 29, and E1/3 of S.W. ¼
Section 20 all in Township 2 Range 13 West, containing about 1404 acres, the
same being all the tract of land known as the Houston Homeplace, including
the Sherrod tract and Rhodes tract and all other tracts which have been
added since the death of David Houston except the Duckett tract known as
Wildwood.

The same being all that tract of land known as the Houston Homeplace
including the Sherrod Tract, the Rhodes Tract and all the lots which have
been added since the death of David Houston.

Tax Sale

State of Alabama

West ½ of Section 20, Township 2, Range 13 West was sold for State and
County taxes due on an assessment of Owner Unknown at a tax sale held on 8
June 1875 and at said sale bid in by Jas. H., E. G., and W. G. Chandler and
F. W. Carrol.

Tax Sale
Probate Court of Lauderdale County
State of Alabama

All of Southwest ¼ of Section 20, Township 2, Range 13 West was sold for
State and County Taxes due on an assessment of Owner Unknown at a tax sale
held on 26 May 1891 and at said sale bid in by Mrs. O. M. O'Neal.

State of Alabama
Lauderdale County

Know all men by these presents that whereas on the 22nd Day of April 1891 a
decree was rendered by the Probate Court of said County for the sale of the
lands hereinafter described and conveyed for the State and County Taxes then
due from Owner unknown the owner of said land and for the costs and expenses thereof and thereunder.

And whereas, thereafter, to-wit, on the 26th day of May 1891 said lands
were duly and regularly sold by the Tax Collector of said County for said
taxes, costs and expenses and at said sale Mrs. O. M. O'Neal became the
purchases of said lands at and for the sum of said taxes, costs and expenses
amounting to $40.47 and further with paid said sum to said Tax Collector and
received from said Collector a certificate of said purchaser.

And whereas the time for the redemption of said lands by said owner or other
person having an interest therein has elapsed and said certificate of
purchase has been returned to the Probate Judge of said County.

Now, therefore, I, W. B. McClure, as Probate Judge of said County, and by
virtue of the power and authority vested in me by law, and in consideration
of the premises above set out in further consideration of the sum of One
Dollar to me in hand paid, have this day granted, bargained and sold, and by
these presents do grant, bargain, sell an convey unto Mrs. O. M. O'Neal who is
the present owner and holder of said certificate of purchase, all the right,
title and interest of said Owner Unknown, owner as aforesaid of said land,
and all the right, title and interest and claim of the State and County on
account of said taxes or under said degree, in and to the following
described lands hereinbefore referred to, to-wit: NE ¼ of SE ¼ of SE ¼ of
SE ¼ of Section 17, NW ¼ of NE ¼ & NE ¼ of NE ¼ & SE ¼ of SE ¼ & NW ¼ of Section 20, all in Township 2, Range 13 West and containing all four hundred
and Forty (440) acres, more or less, lying and situated in said County and
Sate.

TO have and to hold the same, the said rights, titles and interests unto
herself the said Mrs. O.M. O'Neal and her heirs and assigns forever, but no
right, title or interestes of any reversioner or raminderman in said land is
conveyed hereby.

In Testimony Whereof, I have hereto set my hand and seal this the 21st day
of February 1896.
