Miss Belle Walker taught her first year at Jacksonburg, six years at Underwood and 44 years at Wilson for a total of 51 years devoted to education in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She came to Wilson in the fall of 1939 where she taught until her retirement in 1983. Below is her lunch record book for 1949. Lunches were 15 cents. Students could bring money, fresh produce, or canned goods to pay for their lunch.
