NOTE: Although this bond is in Davidson County, Tennessee, some of the children of this couple lived in Lauderdale County, AL. Nancy (Newton) Todd died in Lawrence County, Tennessee.

Samuel Todd - Nancy Newton
July 25th 1810
Know all men, That we Samuel
Todd & Samuel Daily Of the county of Davidson, and the state of Tennessee,
are held and firmly bound unto the governor of the said
state, for the time being in
the sum of 1250 dollars, to be paid to his said excellency,
his successors in office, or
assigns, to which payment well and truly to be made we bind
ourselves, our heirs,
executors and administrators, and each and every of us and
them, both jointly and
severally, and firmly by these presents.
Witness our hands and seals this 25th
day of July 1810
The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas Samuel
Todd Hath prayed and obtained a license to marry Nancy
Newton
Now if the said Nancy
Newton be an actual resident in the aforesaid county, and there
shall not hereafter appear any
lawful cause why the said Samuel Todd
& Nancy Newton should not be joined
together in Holy Matrimony, as husband and wife, then this
obligation to be void
and of no effect, otherwise to remain in full force and
virtue.
