The town of Florence or Lauderdale County,
Alabama has had at least one
newspaper almost from the time of the county's creation. Most of
them, in the
early years of their existence, were published weekly; some were published
less
frequently. When doing research in the old newspapers, it is wise to look in all
the papers in the area at that given time. This includes those that were
published
in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The papers listed below are available on microfilm
located
