MARY A. FAIRES
Death of a Good Woman
Mrs. Mary A. Faires, widow of the late Andrew Faires, died at her home near
Cloverdale last Monday night, aged 78 years. On Tuesday the internment took
place at Wesley Chapel, at 3 o'clock p.m.
Mrs. Faires was born in
South Carolina Dec. 27th 1814, and moved to Lauderdale in early life, where Oct.
5th, 1837, she married Rev. Andrew Faires who has preceded her to the grave. She
spent the whole of her married life on the farm where she died, excepting one
year. She professed faith in the Christian religion when but a girl and through
a long life exemplified its tenets, having been an active member of the
Methodist Church. She lived the Christian's life and died in the full hope of
the Christian's rest in the "mansions of the blest."
