MURRELL ASKEW
Murrell was a Baptist minister and school teacher in Lauderdale County, AL
in the 1850s-1870's He founded the Mt. Pleasant Baptist church
in Lexington, AL in about 1854. The church still exist.
Murrell moved to Oklahoma Indian Territory about the year 1878 and
died there in 1884.
His father was
Aaron Askew. Aaron was also a Baptist minister and during the
years 1852-1854 was tax collector for the county.
I am very
much interested in locating the grave of Aaron and his wife Elizabeth
Askew. He died in 1862 and she sometime after 1870.
