The State of Alabama Lauderdale Co.
Probate Court, April 27th, 1859.
Phebe D. Martin appeared in Court on this day and presented her petition,
representing that she is the widow of Andrew Martin, deceased, that her husband
was seized and possessed of the following described land situated in said
County, to-wit: The North half of the North East Quarter and South East Quarter
of North East Quarter of Section 12, Township 2, Range 11, and the West half of
the North West Quarter of Section 7, Township 2, Range 10. That she is entitled
to dower in said land, and prays that the same be accordingly assigned to her.
It is therefore, ordered that publication be made in the Florence Gazette, for
three Consecutive weeks, giving notice to George Martin, whose residence is
unknown, James S. Martin, who resides somewhere in the State of California,
Harriet G. Yancy, and her husband John S. Yancy, who resides in Tippah County,
Mississippi, Thomas D. Martin, who lives in Tunica County, Mississippi, Mary
Brown, and her husband, James W. Brown, who are residents of Wayne County,
Tennessee, children and heirs at law of said Andrew Martin, of the [filing?] and
prayer of said Petition, that the same has been set for hearing at the term of
said Court, to be held for said County, at the Court House, in Florence, the
second Monday in June next, when and where they can attend and contest said
application if they see proper.
