HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Aubrey Paul Bowling, 75, of Somerville will be Tuesday
at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight
from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowling died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at his home. He was born Oct. 31, 1925,
in Morgan County to Monroe Britain Bowling and Sarah Angeline Ryan Bowling. He
was a lifelong resident of the Florette community and a member of Blue Springs
Baptist Church. He was a teacher at Cotaco High School from 1952 to 1962. He
retired from 3M Co., where he was the personnel manager for 30 years. Mr.
Bowling was a World War II veteran. He was active in the Kiwanis Club, Lions
Club and United Way.
Survivors include his wife, Mollie Jo Bowling; two daughters, Joan Southern of
Atlanta and Jan Collier of Decatur; one brother, Montie Bowling of Somerville;
three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Ryan, R.C. Ryan, John Johnson, A.D. Johnson, Ronald
Yancey and Harvey Bowling. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home.
