69, retired business owner
Tuscumbia - Graveside service for Truman B. Bentley, 69, of Tuscumbia will be
Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Hartselle with the Rev. Greg Davis
officiating and Morrison Funeral Home directing.
A memorial service will be Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Bentley died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, in Tuscumbia at his sister's home. He
was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Hartselle to Boyd Bentley and Christine Henry. He
owned and operated A-1 Janitorial Service in Decatur for 24 years and retired in
1992. He attended Hartselle High School, served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to
1949, attended Anderson Business College in Decatur and worked for General
Motors in Detroit for eight years. He was the widower of Lillian L. Bentley and
the brother of the late Jerrie Hilt and Tilman Bentley.
He is survived by his mother of Decatur; one son, Steven Bentley of Decatur; one
daughter, Judy Carol Bodwick of Asbury Park, N. J.; one sister, Ruth Jean Irvine
of Tuscumbia; one half brother, Donnie Henry of Decatur; five grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
