HARTSELLE - Funeral for Lula E. "Dee" Dempsey, 84, of Lacey's Spring, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Morgan County. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dempsey died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, in Huntsville. She was born Aug 16, 1916, in Morgan County to William Compton and Ellen Galbreath Compton. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Grady Dempsey and the sister of the late Ralph Compton.

Survivors include one son, William G. Dempsey of Somerville; one daughter, Mary West of Lacey's Spring; one sister, Avis Russelll of Florida; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny West, Chris West, Al Thompson, Kenny Goff, Kirk Brown and Seybourne Garner.
