LOCAL YOUNG MAN CALLED
Funeral rites for Asa Woodrow Glasscock, 25, of 322 Jackson Street, who died at
3:30 Friday afternoon at Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, will be held at 3
o'clock Sunday afternoon at Central Baptist church. The Rev Homer Britton will
officiate and will be assisted by the Rev Frank T. Smith. Burial at Bethel
Cemetery, near Hartselle, will be conducted by Brown of Decatur.
The body was returned here last night by Brown and was taken this afternoon to
the home of Mr Glasscock's parents, Mr and Mrs J. A. Glasscock, 701 Second
Avenue, West.
Pallbearers will be: Robert R. Thornhill, Addison Poole, Judson Finney, Roy
Odom, Fred Hall, William Berryhill, Otto Nebrig and Pat Brock, Jr. Flowers will
be in charge of the members of Mrs Forney Steenson's Sunday school class of
Central Baptist church.
Mr Glasscock is survived by his widow; his parents; three sisters, Mrs Wilber
Wilson, of Florence; Miss Mary Elese and Miss Martha Ann Glasscock, of Decatur;
two brothers, Thurman Glasscock, of Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands; and John A.
Glasscock, Jr., of Decatur.
Mr Glasscock who was widely known here had been in ill health for some time.
