JOHN W. GARLEN CLAIMED BY DEATH

John W. Garlen, 75, passed away Thursday night at his home on Somerville 2. He is survived by his wife; five sons, Ellery of Athens, Ether of Athens, Hearin of Elkmont, Asia of Falkville and William of Decatur; five daughters, Mrs W. W. Wigginton of Somerville 2, Mrs John Davis of Hartselle 2, Mrs Fred Evans of Hartselle 3, Miss Attis Garlen of Somerville 2, Miss Zula Garlen of Somerville 2; 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at three o'clock at Antioch church by Rev Hollis Roberson and interment was made there, Drinkard directing.

The following were pallbearers: Arthur Couey, Glenn Brown, Raymond Free, Will Smith, T. A. McKey, Vaughn Couey.
