James "Vermon" Goodson, 72, of 726 West Point Road died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rescue Methodist Church. Burial will be at Rescue Cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his wife, Mary "Mozelle" Black Goodson; one daughter, "Sherri" Lorrane Goodson Wood of Texas; two sons, "Gary" Wayne Goodson of Somerville and Randall Keith "Randy" Goodson of Decatur; one brother, Edward "Felton" Goodson of Lacey's Spring; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m.
