W. T. GRANTLAND DIED LAST FRIDAY MORNING
W. T. Grantland, age 86, widely known Morgan county citizen, died at his home on
Somerville Route 3, Friday morning after an illness of pneumonia.
Mr Grantland is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs T. M. McCutcheon and
Mrs W. O. McCutcheon of Hartselle; Mrs W. J. Riley, Decatur Route 3, Mrs O. B.
Frederick, Mulga, Ala; two sons, W. G. Grantland , of Lacey's Spring and H. L.
Grantland, Electra, Texas; one brother, S. E. Grantland, Somerville Route 3; two
sisters, Mrs J. H. Maxwell, Somerville Route 3 and Mrs E. W. Lyle, Somerville
Route 1, and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Antioch
Church by the Rev R. S. McDonald. Burial at Antioch was directed by Peck.
The pallbearers were: Gilbert Johnson, Virgil Mason, Millard Compton, Charlie
Drew, Mark Grubbs and Humphrey Breeding. Granddaughters handled the flowers.
(He was the son of Thomas Elijah Grantland and Emaline Breeding, daughter of
