JOHN A. GLASSCOCK
John A. Glasscock, 70, died today at 1:20 a.m. at his residence at 203 1/2 Grant
St. following a long illness. Until his retirement two years ago he was employed
with the Post Office Department here for 35 years.
Funeral services are to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral home with
the Rev. A. B. Van Arsdale and Bill Neece officiating. Interment will be in
Bethel Cemetery near Hartselle.
He is survived by two sons, Capt. Truman G. Glasscock, U.S. Air Force at Clovis,
N.M.; John A. Glasscock Jr., Decatur; three daughters, Mrs. Harold Kyle,
Wiesbaden, Germany; Mrs. Alfred Iles, Shreveport, La; and Mrs. W. M. Wilson
Florence; one stepson, James L. Matthews, Detroit, and 10 grandchildren.
Six former post office associates will serve as pallbearers.
