MACE RYAN (Red) GLASSCOCK
A memorial service for Mace Ryan (Red) Glasscock, 75, of Somerville Route Three
was conducted Saturday, June 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel in
Hartselle with the Revs. John Walker and Brooks Barkley officiating.
Mr. Glasscock died Wednesday, June 3, at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in

was assigned in Chilton County, he helped develop the peach industry and
festival and set up a pilot model for the Rural Area Development Program.
He then returned to Auburn University where he served as a specialist for the
State Extension Service. He worked to put the state's fruit and vegetable
growers in touch with new markets for their products and taught county extension
staffers how to improve marketing programs.
A native of Hartselle, Mr. Glasscock retired in 1977. He returned to a farm near
the junction of Highway 36 and 67 that had been in his family longer than he was
old.
