Services for Mary Powell Hand 71,of Falkville will be at 1 p.m.Sunday
Aug.12,2001 at Peck Funeral Home,with burial in Bell Springs Cemetery. Peck
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs.Hand died friday ,Aug.1o at
Cullman Regional Medical Center.She was born Jan.20,1930 in Morgan County to
Walter Powell and Daisy Thomas Powell.She was a homemaker and a member of Bell
Springs Baptist Church. She was precedded in dth by her parents. Survivors
include two sons Ricky Hand and Bobby Hand of Falkville;a daughter Barbara Hand
Duke of Falkville,two brother's,John Powell of Cullman,and David Powel of
Decartur;five sister"s,Jewell Ball,Dorthy Shaddix,Bea Murphy,Gracie
Etheridge,all of Culman,and Martha Cobb of Hartselle;six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers, Visitation wioil be
from 6 until to 8 p.m.today art the funeral home. My note: She was also preceed
in death by her husbamd of many years,Ray Hand.This was somehow left out of the
obit.
