GIBSON

I have found that Eliza (C). Gibson was b. 1812 in TN? AL? SC. She says on census in Winston Co., AL- different places of birth. She was married to John Jones b. 1813 VA and d. 1877 Winston Co., AL. They are on census- 1850-60 and 70 in Winston Co., AL, AND on 1870 Morgan Co. Gibson's Bend also. Eliza C. Gibson's husband- John Jones- John W. Jones- John W C Jones- he uses all these on different census, died in 1877 Winston CO., AL and Eliza C. (Gibson) Jones is in HH with her son- John M Jones in 1880, Independence, Autauga Co., AL. There is a woman and children in this HH who is listed as "Other" , then a son of John M. Jones, and then his mother- Eliza C. Jones. I can't find her after the 1880 census. The thing is- I cannot find Eliza (C) Gibson's parents. She says on census they were both b. in SC. So I guess they came from SC to AL, Gibson's Bend, Morgan Co., AL. Do you know who this Eliza (C) Gibson-JONES's parents are? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

MURPHY

Murphy African-American/Slave/Black Searching for ancestors and hoemstead of the Murphy Family.  Robert "Bob" Murphy b. 1828 has been traced to the Trinity, AL area (Precinct 11 on 1900 Census).  His mother and father were from Virginia.   Although most likely a slave, Bob Murphy could read and write and managed to acquire property in the Trinity, AL area. On the 1900 Census his property is listed as Farm Schedule 108, neighbors last names were McDaniel & Casperlin?? and a huge Sivas?? family. He was known to have lended money and possbly acquired lands if debts we're not paid (this is speculation, not proven). He married Herret (b.1835 most likely Harriett) in 1865 in Trinity, AL, searching for maiden name/family of Harret/Harriet as well. Her parents were from Virginia.  They had two children, James Murphy b.1877 and Anna Belle b. 1871. Anna Belle Murphy  married a James Keller and later a Massabau Phinney who later became a Rev. and  traveled with his family.   We have the story from there.  However, we would like to find Bob Murphy's land or at least location, as well as any other details if his life, whereabouts, death, etc. // 50 Creek Ridge, Pittsford, NY 14534.

CROW, William Thomas - was listed on the voter registration list for Precinct No 2 in 1867. States he has been in the state and in the county for 12 months. I need to track where he came from. Believe he changed his name to CROWLEY prior to his marriage to Frances CROCKER in 1873 in Jefferson County. This is the first possible crack in my brick wall!

I am looking for information about my greatgrandfather William T Lindsey born July 17 1850 in Alabama. Married to Elizabeth Lambert and died in Falkville Al in 1931. I have found him at age 30 in Coosa County AL. But nothing before that date. Any help on his early years will be much appreciated
