pp25-6 - "William Chesney was the first County Court clerk. An Englishman of good family, he had served at one time in the British army, where his brother was a Major-General.
"He married Mourning Hewett in Perry County on July 31, 1821.
"After retiring from the clerk's position on August 30, 1823, Chesney merchandised in a small store near the post office." [end quote]
