The remains and all markers in the above six cemeteries relating to the re-
mains to be relocated are to be moved from their present location to reinter-
ment locations previously stated. Such removal and reinterment is to be done
by the successful bidder as an independent contractor and not as an agent of
Alabama Power Company. All work is to be done in a proper, respectful and
decent manner and it will be the responsibility of the successful bidder to
obtain the necessary clearance and permission from the state, county and
local authorities.
Contract
The proposed contract for this work may be seen at the Land Department of
Alabama Power Company in Birmingham and at the field office in Pell City,
Alabama, on or after October 15, 1962. Rights of any successful bidder are
contingent upon the execution by such bidder of a contract satisfactory to
Alabama Power Company.
Road Conditions
Most of the roads over which it will be necessary to travel in performing
such work are paved, and the unpaved roads between the present burial grounds
and the cemeteries in which the remains are to be reinterred are average for
the area.
Bidding
All bids to be considered must be received by the undersigned on or before
noon of October 19, 1962.
Attached is a form for use in bidding, which has been prepared for your
convenience. However, its use is not required, as you may wish to make
your bid on your own stationery.
In bidding, will you please submit a bid on the entire project and a
separate bid on a per grave basis.
