This indenture Made this
10th day of January
in the year of Our Lord One thousand
eight hundred & fifty six (1856) between William H
Talbott and Rhoda Talbott his
wife of the county and state aforesaid
of the one part, and Aber R Scarborough of the said afore
Said County and State of the other part, Witnesseth That
the said William H Talbott
and Rhoda Talbot for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty four hundred
dollars to them in
hand paid by the said Abner R Scarborough, the receipt
is hereby acknowledged, have
this day bargained and sold, and by
their presents do convey and confirm unto the said Abner
R Scarborough his heirs and
assigns forever, a certain tract or
parcel of land, lying and being in the County of Sumter
and State of Alabama and in
the district lands subject to sale
at Demopolis designated as the East half of Section (30)
Thirty (except two acres for
the Baptist Church for a graveyard) Township
Nineteen Range one West, also East half of NW quarter
of same Section Township and Range, one hundred and twenty
acres off of the NE quarter of Section thirty one same
township & range also the
SW quarter (except four acres for
the Methodist Church South) of Section twenty nine same
Township and range also the
west half of the NW quarter &
South half of the East half of the NW quarter of section
twenty nine same township and
range containing Eight hundred
acres more or less which tract of land together with
appurtenances thereto belonging
the said William H Talbot and
Rhoda Talbot for themselves, their heirs unto the said
Abner R Scarborough and his
heirs Executors, administrators and
assigns will warrant and forever defend against the lawful
claims all persons whomsoever (except the last item (120)
one hundred acres) as an Indefeasible inheritance in fee
simple.
