11th Alabama

Company E, the Yancey Rifles, of the 11th Alabama Infantry Regiment was raised in Washington County during the Civil War. Ron Griffin (rggriffin@dmci.net) is currently engaged in research on the 11th and would appreciate any information you may have to share on your ancestor who served in Company E.

Ron's book on the 11th Alabama Infantry has just recently been published by McFarland Press - The 11th Alabama Volunteer Regiment in the Civil War (Library Binding). The book contains helpful genealogical information on those who fought from Washington County as well.
