ROSTER: Company A, 13th Alabama Volunteers
6 Jul 1861 - 31 Dec 1864

Wilcox County, Alabama

Transcribed by Gordon Smith, corkworld@earthlink.net

Company A, 13th Alabama, from Wilcox County, was almost completely decimated by the end of 1864. The few men remaining were assimilated into other units, and a few were ultimately present at Appomattox in April 1865. Uncertainties are inherent in old handwritten documents. Errors in deciphering the script are unavoidable. My primary source is the "RECORD" cited below. If ever there was a group of men who understood "sacrifice to duty", this unit surely meets that measure. Most of the surnames on this roster are still extant in Wilcox County.
