November
Aldridge/Canterbury/Bowling/Lee
Reunion Saturday November 14, 2009 Glen Allen Methodist Church Basement 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone related to the following ancestors is most welcome: Marion Claud ALDRIDGE and wife, Louvenia Elizabeth CANTERBURY both buried Glen Allen Methodist Church Cemetery David Franklin ALDRIDGE and wife, Mary Jane LEE both buried Glen Allen Methodist Church Cemetery Benjamin LEE and wife, Margaret STEDMAN both buried near Winfield, AL Jeff Davis CANTERBURY and wife, Drusilla Ann BOWLING both buried Winfield City Cemetery Martin BOWLING and wife, Kiziah Jane BRIDGES both buried Goodwater Cemetery near Winfield, AL Ansel BRIDGES and wife, Hulda WESTMORELAND burial location(s) unknown The Glen Allen Church again extends a welcome to us all for this potluck gathering. The church is no longer under the Methodist Conference and has been purchased (along with the cemetery) by the congregation. Same nice people, just new owners. So we can still make donations to the Cemetery Upkeep Fund, as we have in past years. We hope everyone is well and will plan to join us for the reunion. Come have lunch (we really have great food) and visit for a brief time if you can’t stay long. Let’s call our day ‘Thanksgiving’ – practicing for the holiday later in the month. We all want to see everyone and exchange some news or compare aches and pains. For some of us, this ‘get together’ may be part of summer vacation, and we do look forward to it. Stop by and see everyone in one historic location (for family history). This is difficult to do with so many generations having so many schedules to consider, and the younger ones may not know any of the history of the location or family. Let’s hope for good health for everyone (no emergencies) and good weather for all of us near and far. Plan to eat about noon, but come earlier and stay later to visit. See you soon in Glen Allen!
