From: Betty or JJ Johnson jjandbj@sprintmail.com
Can anyone tell me if there was once a town named Jackson Port in Lauderdale Co., AL? I
have found a note that William McCLESKEY died in 1872 in Jackson Port, AL, but cannot
locate the town on a current Alabama map. Since William is also said to have worked on the
locks in Muscle Shoals, AL in 1835, I would guess the town to have been on the Tennessee
River. Any leads will be appreciated. Betty Johnson

with children: William-age 22, Arnold (J.J.A.)-age 20, Stephen-age 18, Emeline-age

Alexander KING-age 24 and his wife Lydia (McDONALD). Alexander could be a son
of Catherine's. It is not known who the husband of Catherine was. However, there is a
James M. KING household in the 1840 Lauderdale Co., AL census that closely
resembles Catherine's in 1850.
