  • Letter 1 written January 24, 1861 by LEMUEL HARRIS, son of WILLIAM HUGH HARRIS, to his brother-in-law WILLIAM ANDERSON MUSGROVE.

  • Letter 2 written July 3, 1861 by LEMUEL HARRIS, son of WILLIAM HUGH HARRIS, to his brother-in-law WILLIAM ANDERSON MUSGROVE.

  • Letter 3 written January 8, 1862 by LEMUEL HARRIS, son of WILLIAM HUGH HARRIS, to his brother-in-law WILLIAM ANDERSON MUSGROVE.

  • Letter 4 written January 16, 1862 by LEMUEL HARRIS, son of WILLIAM HUGH HARRIS, to his brother-in-law WILLIAM ANDERSON MUSGROVE.

  • Letter 6 written February 9, 1862 by LEMUEL HARRIS to his brother. 

  • Letter 7 written June 30, 1862 by EDWARD HARRIS, brother of LEMUEL HARRIS, to his sister. 

  • August 12, 1864: Report of the death of Capt. Lemuel Harris, son of William Hugh Harris.

    These letters were written by my G-G Grandfather ANDREW MILLIGAN ASTON of Marion Co. AL.  He was married to MANERVA JANE MORTON. The ASTONs and MORTONs were in SC before moving to AL in the mid-1820s.  A. M. Aston died in his very first battle, the Battle of Mill Springs, (KY) and is buried close to where he fell on the battlefield.
