Item ~ Soldiers or Sailors.  The State of Alabama, Bibb County.  Application for relief J. V. Quinn.  Under act approved February 13, 1891.  For the relief of needy Confederate Soldiers and Sailors, residents of Alabama, who from wounds or other cause, are now unable to earn a livelyhood, are for the Widows of such as were killed or died in said war, and not since remarried.  Please have Mrs. Quinn to make affidavit on back of this application and return at over.  The bound appiser? It before the they discovered the osrution. Soldiers or Sailors Application For the relief of needy confederate soldiers and sailors, resident of Alabama, who from wounds or other cause are now unable to earn a livelihood by labor, under act approved February 13th 1891 (HB 8969) and as amended February 18th 1895 (SB 825).  The State of Alabama, Bibb County}  Before me, T. C. Wallace NP off JP in and for said county, in said state, personally appeared J. V. Quinn who being duly sworn deposes and says that he was a Buge Man in Company E of LW in T adams Calvary Regiment of tror pomaind from Alabama, Louisana, and Mississippi and, that he did not desert the service of this State or Confederate States:  That while in the discharge of his duties as such he has a discker of the head which henders him to do any labor. And in consequence of such loss of limb, wound or wounds; sickness or old age, he is physically unable to earn a livelihood by labor:  That he was, on the 13th day of February, 1891, and is now, a resident of Alabama, and that his post office address is Blocton Alabama that he is engaged in the business of photographer.  That his taxable property consists of nothing at all, and is not worth in the aggregate more than five hundred dollars: That his salary or gross income does not amount to five hundred dollars per year; and that his wife does not own a separate estate of more than five hundred dollars: And hereby makes application for relief under Act.  Sworn to and subscribed before me on this 4th day of April 1894.  Signed T. Quinn, Applicant.  After an examination and investigation of the within application, we report that the said applicant is worthy and recommend that the application be received. June 9, 1896.  I find the above application is in due form and approve the same.  Signed W. C. Thompson, Judge of Probate.  Signed: J. M. Krant, A. B. Smith, R. J. Rolenlury, Board of Examiners.  State of Alabama, Bibb County} Personally appeared before me T. C. Wallace a Notery Public and Justice of the Peace in and for said county, J. V. Quinn who being duly sworn deposeths and saith that by reason of physical disability he is unable to appear before the Probate Judge of said county to make affidavit to his application for relief, under the act for relief of needy confederate Soldiers and Sailors, &c. approved February 13, 1891, and that such disability consists of no way to walk that he is unable to go.  Sworn to and subscribed before me this 4th day of April 1896. Quinn who being duly sworn deposes and says:  That, while in the military or naval service of this state, or Confederate States he was a Private in Company E of Adams Regiment of Mississippi and, that he did not desert the services of this state, or confederate states: that, while in the discharge of his duties as such, on and in consequence of such, he is physically unable to earn a livelihood by labor.  That he is now a bona fide resident of Alabama, and that he has been such for at least one year prior to this date:  that his post office address is Blocton that he is engaged in the business of nothing that his taxable property consists of nothing, and it is not worth in the aggregate more than five hundred dollars:  that his salary or gross income does not amount to five hundred dollars per year; and that his wife does not own a separate estate of more than five hundred dollars.  And he hereby makes application for relief under said act.  Sworn to and subscribed before me this 10 day of March 1898 Signed: W.
