The following answers to the queries propounded are respectfully submitted in support of my application for a Confederate pension under Act of the Legislature of Alabama, approved Sept. 25, 1915, viz ;

(3) Q. What is your exact age? A. 84 Years 4 Months 25 Days
(4) Q. How long have you lived in the state? A. All my life
(5) Q. What date did your husband enlist in the service of the Confederacy? A. March 1862
(6) Q. What branch of service was he in? A. Cavalry
(7) Q. What was his rank? A. Private
(8) Q. Company? A. B
(9) Q. Regiment? A. 2nd. Ala. Cav.
(10) Q. How long did he see actual service? A. Until Surrender
(11) Q. Was he ever wounded? A. Yes, by horse falling
(12) Q. How badly? A. Internal injury of the back from which he complained until his death.

We, L.L. Killingsworth and H. B. Latham our post-office addresses being Montevallo Alabama, respectively, do solemnly swear that we have known Matilda R Splawn whose name is signed to the foregoing application 65 years and 40 years respectively, that we consider her to be a truthful and reliable person and do not believe that she would make a false statement for the purpose of securing a pension.
