I Alexander Clark of the State of Alabama and County of Bibb do hereby make my last will and testament
in manner and form following that is to say
1st I desire that all the perishable part of my estate be immediately sold after my deceased and out
of the monies therefrom arising all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid. Should the
perishable part of my property prove insufficient for the above purposes then I desire that my
executors hereafter named may sell my plantation and Lands lying in Avery's neighborhood and out of
the monies arising therefrom pay and satisfy such of my Just debts as shall remain unpaid out of the
sales of the perishable part of my Estate.
2ndly- After the payment of my debts and funeral expenses I Give to my daughters Ann Flemming and
Margaret Clarke and to their heirs the following Negro property (towit) Mary Ann, Rebecca her sister
and child
3rdly- I Give and bequeath to my grandson John Calvin Lee Two Negro boys Wiley and Green
4thly- I Give my son John Clark, Dinah a Negro woman and her three children Prince, Lewis and Jane
also Sook a yellow woman slave and her daughter Caroline
5thly- I Give to my son James Clark the following Negro slave property (towit) Jacks and his brother
William also Phebe and her son Daniel
6thly- I Give to my sons John Clark and James Clark all my Lands lying on Cahaba River in the County
of Bibb also a

Negro man slave named Simon to be their Joint property; and if either of my sons before mentioned
should die without issue, leaving no lawful heirs, my will is that his property shall descend to and
be inherited by the others. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my sons John Clark and
James Clark executors of this my last will and testament herby revoking all other or former wills or
testaments by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the
24th day of December the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and forty
