Will of Hiram Elam
Following is transcription of will of Hiram Elam (loose papers Bibb County, Alabama Courthouse,
August 1997).
I Hiram Elam of the county of Bibb and State of Alabama do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form folowing
that is to say First my will and desire is that my beloved wife Ruth Elam have all my property real and personal of whatsoever
name or kind or descripsion during her life time and is unmarried except what I herein after otherwise despose of to my son
Analisis Elam I give the folowing described land SW4 of NW4 of Section 2 in Township 22 Range 8 East containing forty-seven
acres more or less. To George Elam a colored boy my will is that he shall have one cow and two calves, the last named bequest
is on these conditions that said George Elam shall continue to reside with me till my death and after that evend continue
with my wife and shall be to here submisive and obedient till he is twenty-one years old to my son Hiram Henry Elam one bed
and furniture my will and desire is in the event of my wife' death or Marriage that all the property then remaining be equally
divided among my folowing named children Martha Ann Elam, Analises Elam, Hiram Henry Elam, & Elisabeth Elam.
And I do hereby appoint my beloved son Analisis Elam Executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 16th day of Sept. in the year of our Lord One thousand
