The State of Alabama
Bibb County
In the name of god Amen I Jonathan Jones of the county and State aforesaid
being mindful of my mortality do this third day of July and the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three make and publish this
my last will and testament in manner following viz I desire to be decently
and privatly buried on my own land without any funeral pomp and with as
little expence as may be Also I give and bequeath unto my Eldest son John
William Jones one bay horse worth seventy dollars Also I give and bequeath
unto my second son Augustus Washington Jones on bay horse colt worth forty
dollars also I give and bequeath unto my third son Jonathan Shelby Jones
one mare colt worth twenty dollars also one shot gun Also I give unto my
wife Epsa Dilla Jones during her life or until the end of her widowhood
the use of all my house hold good beadsteads beding and other furniture
and after her decease or end of end of widowhood then for all the property
belonging to said estate to be equally distributed between my said wife
Epsa Dilla Jones and my legal heirs which names are as follows viz John
William Jones Augustus Washington Jones Jonathan Shelby Jones Martha Susan
Jones David Jasper Jones Bailer Pickens Jones Epsa Elizabeth Lucretia
Jones all the rest and residue of my personal and real estate that
whatsoever and wheresoever of what nature kind and quality soever the same
may be and herein before given and disposed of after my debts Legacies and
funeral expenses I do give and bequeath unto my wife Epsa Dilla Jones her
executors Administrators and assigns to and for their own use and benefit
Absolutely and I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Epsa Dilla
Jones and Jesse Potter my sole Executrix and executor of this my last will
and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto sets my hand and seal the
day and year first above written.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator and for his last
will and Testament in our presence who at his request in his presence have
subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto

Note (1): In same Book, pages 117-118, bond was filed for Epsa Dilla Jones
& Jesse Potter in amount of $2500.00. Epsa Dilla Jones, Jesse Potter,
Thomas H Abney and Aaron Campbell bound on 6 August 1833 to Thomas W
Crawford Judge of the County Court for Bibb County.
