1. NEEDHAM FOLEY was born abt. 1793 in North Carolina, and died aft. 1870
in Covington County, AL. He married first CHARITY STRICKLAND unknown date
but probably in Horry County, South Carolina or Columbus County, North
Carolina. She was born abt. 1795 in Columbus County, NC, and died abt.
1850 in Alabama. He married second ELIZABETH unknown.
Notes for NEEDHAM FOLEY:
Needham served in the War of 1812 out of Horry County, South Carolina. He
is found on the 1820 Columbus County, NC census, 1830 Bibb County, AL
census, 1840 Dale County, AL census, 1850 and 1860 Coffee County, AL
census, and 1870 Covington County, AL census. Land purchase records for
him have been located in Bibb County, AL (time frame 1835). The land was
in the same township, section, and block of those also located for Henry
Brewer, father of Camille Brewer who was the wife of William E. Foley. A
continuing search of the records of the North and South Carolina Foleys is
ongoing to prove his parentage (suspected son or grandson of Flood Foley,
Rev. War veteran). Needham and second wife, Elizabeth, had at least two
children, Alexander and Peter.

1841 in Bibb County, AL. She was born abt 1822 in Alabama, and died bef
1900 in Bibb County, AL (also believed buried in the Foley Cemetery, Bibb
County, AL).

1895 in Centerville, Bibb County, AL, daughter of JACOB ESUA KINARD and
SARAH ISABELLA HILL. She was born January 3, 1878 in Bibb County, AL, and
died April 4, 1978 in Champion Cemetery, Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio.

Samuel has been located on the 1910 Bibb County, AL census and the 1920
Greene County, AL census. A marriage record for Samuel and Rilar is on
file. Samuel's death certificate states his cause of death as acute lobar
pneumonia. His occupation on the certificate is noted as laborer. Rilar's
address is listed on the certificate as 3155 W. 106th, Cleveland, Ohio.

Avenue in Cleveland. Information on the children comes from the Rilar
Foley Family Bible which reports the names and birthdates of her and
Samuel's children, as well as theirs and that of their parents. Their

Myrtle is listed on the 1930 Trumbull County, Ohio census with Cyril and
children. She and Cyril later lived in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio
where their children graduated from South High School. She and Cyril
moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1952 where they lived at 364 NW 48th
Street. Myrtle was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge 278 in Youngstown
and a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge in Florida. Cyril was a car
blocker at Youngstown Steel Door in Youngstown. He worked in an aluminum
plant in Florida. He was a member of the Sulgrave Masonic Lodge 696 of
Youngstown and the Aut Mori Grotto of Youngstown.
