“Lum” as he was called, was my great grandfather on my mother’s side of the family, and lived in the Randolph Community. The first pic was taken around 1957 in Selma, Alabama, and depicts “Lum” with his two sons at his side. My grandfather, Milford Columbus Tucker, is on the left; and his younger brother, Willard Lee Tucker, is on the right. I don’t know a whole lot about Lum and Willard, but I remember my mother was very complimentary of each and said that Willard was the sweetest man she ever met; his countenance in this picture would certainly lend credence to her statement. The second pic is the back of the first pic, and includes a few relevant notes. The third pic is my Papa’s final resting spot in Greenwood Cemetery, in Montgomery. Papa was somewhat of a “sport model” and lived a colorful life. He ran away from home early in life and spent time in Birmingham as a fireman and eventually settled in Selma where he became a City of Selma motorcycle patrolman and eventually, Sheriff of Dallas County in the late 1930’s. He was the best Granddaddy to me and my sister that any boy or girl could ever hope for.

I hope this information will be helpful to someone. It is also interesting to note that Papa and his Dad (Lum) died on the same month & day of the year.
